ODMdev Is Being Repaved.

Migration to a new server introduced a number of problems that require repairs.  In addition to those defects, some older pages also need to be modified and reorganized for consistency across all of ODMdev.  While the site is being repaved to accomplish both kinds of improvements, you may notice discrepancies and problems with links to site content.

Check the Site Repaving Project pages for additional details on the known defects and the approach to correction and upgrade.  Contact the ODMA Technical Coordinator with questions and to report any defects that you notice.

2007-07-24 Review the subordinate construction structures and construction zones for case-sensitivity among page names, URL links, link texts, and text mentions: _private/, confirm/, construction/, core/, devNotes/, images/, manager/, nodist/, odmref10/, odmrun10/, samples/, tools/
in progress 2007-07-24 While performing reviews, identify any additional adjustments that are required to have consistency with the latest formats, styles, and organization of materials.

2007-07-12 Perform a case-mangle review of all links in _private, confirm, construction, core, devNotes, images, manager, nodist, odmref10, odmrun10, samples, and tools. [dh: These were created prior to the creation of a system for repaving the site.  These will be checked off along with the items introduced as part of the 2007-07-24 in-progress repaving.]
2007-08-04 Document the construction structure principles under the appropriate template documents so that this is not always being implemented and deviated from memory.

2007-07-12 ODMdev.htm should be an include page from a document-engineering folio.  [dh:2007-07-24 This is urgent because this does not look like what we want to be talking about.]
2007-07-12 Redo the default.htm page in terms of offering something, answering questions, providing something.
2006-01-21 When I have the starter kit complete, link to something
2006-01-21 Create privacy, status, and contact links on the front page
2006-01-21 Add Projects to the front page [dh:2007-07-12 I am not sure what this is about.  I don't have a Projects folder at this point.  Everything is in devNotes or under ODMA.  However, some projects can be linked from the middle strip.]
2006-01-21 Add contact information to the front page
2006-01-17 Factor the front porch treatment here back to nfoWare and eventually back to TROST and other sites.
2006-01-13 A bigger deal is how the web pages all work when mirrored on anything but a web server.
2006-01-13 A big deal here is going to be how the pieces can be used separately, updated into someone's mirror, and so on with great selectivity.
2005-10-11 The FAQtip on how all of this stuff gets named should be given priority and gotten done.
2005-10-11 Also make sure there are no-follows in the bottom of everything in the templates.
2005-03-27 Map the ActiveODMA structure in Blocco \crea\ActiveODMA to this ODMA /dev section.  Each subsection will get at least an index.htm and perhaps a construction zone.  [dh:2006-01-17 I think it will be \crea\ODMdev and I'll figure this out when I next need to travel with ODMdev on Blocco.  I don't think I need to make so many separate shared folders.][dh:2006-01-20 I cleaned out what I can.  I need to break this apart more.  I should be following whatever procedure I introduce and describe here.] [dh:2007-07-12 Blocco is long gone and I am now worrying about getting the IIS development server and VSS repository off of compagno, which is now over 8 years old and needs to be decommissioned.  Finally, It is now Quadro that will be the traveling Tablet PC, if it holds up.]
done 2007-08-14 Remove the extraneous Front Porch material from the hosted-site image and the hosted site itself.
done
2007-08-14
2007-07-12 ODMdev Development Structure (ODMdev.htm) might not be the right thing. [dh:2007-08-14 It is the ODMA Development Framework]
done
2007-08-14
2007-08-09 Retrofit the improved construction structure organization and description of nfoWare to here.  The nfoWare front porch is an appropriate model.
done
2007-08-14
2007-07-24 Review the front porch for case-sensitive consistency among page names, URL links, link texts, and text mentions: default.htm, index.htm, construction.htm, c000000, c000000a, ODMdev.htm
done
2007-08-14
2007-07-24 Have the construction structure be consistent all the way down in how construction zones are linked and how construction-structure images links upward to the appropriate construction zone, or other superior structure.
done
2007-08-14
2007-07-12 Perform a case-mangle review of all links on the front porch.
done 2007-08-14 Check the index.htm explanation against what is used from nfoWare.com/index.htm.  Move material that is not needed to ODMdev.htm, perhaps.
done 2007-08-14 Remove the odmdev.bat and odmdev.lnk materials from the Front Porch.  This is not how ODMdev will be set up if replicated onto someone's development system.  We don't know quite how that will all work so far, but it is probably from a .zip distribution of the development setup.
done 2007-08-14 index.htm: Change all page names to monospace
done
2007-07-30
2006-01-13 When the Starter Kit is announced, change the NuovoDoc page to use the correct name, ActiveODMA Development Framework.  Correct all of the text in the new definition and in references.  [dh:2007-07-12 We are going with different names and need to create something about the progression of devkits.] [dh:2007-08-14 We are using ODMA Development Framework, and only the homepage of NuovoDoc.com needs to be updated for that]
done 2007-07-27 Remove extraneous centering that was interfering with presentation inside the cells of the default.htm layout.
done
2007-07-27
2007-07-26 Add an ODMJNI page to the ODMdev root.  Document-Engineer it from devNotes.  This could also be an ODMA FAQ.  Interesting Problem.  (Include Pages don't cross mini-webs.)  I could put it in the active folder though, and that would be a reasonable form of compromise.  I will take that approach so it is easier to refer to from the ODMA site as well as the ODMdev site. [dh:2007-07-27 This has been moved to the ActiveODMA section of the ODMA site.]
done
2007-07-27
2007-07-26 Link from the ODMdev default page to the ODMJNI Public Beta and make sure there is guidance on the target page.
done
2007-07-24
2007-07-21 ODMdev.htm should include the ClustrMap once we get it sorted out.
done 2007-07-21 default.htm: Include the ClustrMap onto the default page at the bottom of the projects column.
done
2007-07-18
2007-07-16 Make an include page construction template for the ClustrMap image and legend.
done 2007-07-12 Create a clean-up process for correcting case-sensitivity in all folios here.
done 2007-07-12 The ODMref10 and ODMrun10 links on ODMdev.htm are case-mangled.
done 2007-07-12 It is ODMdev: ODMA Development Framework, not ActiveODMA Development Framework.  Make that change on the default.htm page.
done 2007-07-12 The Starter Kit link is bogus.   Remove it from the default.htm page.

2006-01-21 Siphon completed items to an archive page so this page is not so unwieldy.  [dh:2007-07-12 This is the 2005-2006 Archive page.]
done 2005-03-11 Start a construction zone here for supporting the creation of the /dev development tree snapshot folder. [dh: This is a clone of the one created on 03-10 and now brought under the /dev Construction Zone.  This consolidates the history of this section as a transformation of a sequestered section to an embargoed section to this public section.]
Revision History:
0.31 2007-07-12-20:49 Continue Modifications for ODMJNI and additional bootstrapping
Conduct modifications needed for arriving at the ODMJNI1.0 public beta release 0.60.
0.30 2007-07-12-20:31 Archive Completed Materials
The items that are completed prior to 2007 are archived in a secondary page for historical purposes.  This leaves an easier-to-maintain set of now-active items.
0.25 2006-01-18-21:09 Adjust for ODMdev Mini-Web Operation
The ODMA /dev folder is re-paved as ODMdev and operating as an independent, embedded Web site.  This allows maintenance to be managed separate from the overall ODMA site and leads toward havint ODMdev be independently mirrored, downloaded, recorded on CD-ROMs, etc.  The styles used for the site are modernized at the same time.  This qualifies as part of the ODMA Interoperability Exchange refresh.
0.00 2005-03-10-12:27 Initiation of Diary & Notes
This Construction Zone change history is set up for the ODMA /dev section working from sequestered to embargoed to public.  Note that private (that is, locked and requiring sign-on access) is a variant on public termed private.  An embargoed section could also be restricted, and we'll call that secret or confidential: some level where even the knowledge of the area is a secret.  This section is under the root of the ODMA.info site to shorten the URLs to interior content and also to resemble the kind of development tree implemented for com.orcmid.
