Subject: Word 2000 problem with Windows 2000
Forgive me if you've tried this already, but I have
found from experience that the issue Microsoft documents in its Knowledge Base
here http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q166/8/65.ASP?LN=EN-US&SD=gn&FR=0
also applies to Word 2000 & Windows 2000.
In essence Word tries to pass all strings as Unicode through ODMA
& it must be instructed to use ANSI strings by creating a registry key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ODMA32\ANSIonNT
I haven't tried out the sample DMS with Word, but I learnt the
above from my experience with DOCS Open & SafetyGain, and the symptoms look
similar.
